Warranty and After-Sales Service
We recommend that you always contact your authorised SEIKO retailer.
Repairs should be entrusted to your usual retailer or to any other authorised retailer of your choice, who will either repair your watch or send it to a service centre. Authorised service centres are located throughout France and are trained in the latest technologies. Repairs carried out by these service centres are covered by a one-year warranty in the case of a complete servicing.
If your watch is still under warranty, always bring your international warranty card when leaving your watch with your retailer.
This card will be required in order to benefit from free repairs under the warranty.
You can find the contact details of our authorised retailers on our website under OUR STORES.
Warranty Period
The international warranty has officially been extended to 3 years as of 1 October 2024 and applies to all purchases made from 1 July 2024 onwards.
For purchases made before 1 July 2024, the original 2-year warranty applies and is not extended.
The Seiko Warranty
In France, your watch must have been purchased from an official retailer authorised by SEIKO France. Elsewhere in Europe, it must have been purchased from a retailer authorised by the official distributor in the country where the purchase was made.
Warranty Conditions
• The warranty covers the case, movement, dial, hands and any metal bracelet. It does not cover the crystal, battery, straps or bracelets made from materials other than metal, or scratches resulting from normal use. Damage caused by natural disasters such as earthquakes or flooding is also not covered.
• Many SEIKO watches are water-resistant. If your watch bears the words “WATER RESISTANT” on the case back, this warranty covers damage caused by water ingress. Please refer to the table explaining the different levels of water resistance and their appropriate use in the FAQ or advice section.
• The warranty is valid only if it has been duly completed and dated by the official authorised SEIKO retailer that sold the watch. We reserve the right to decline responsibility for warranty repairs if the watch has been altered or damaged by anyone other than a SEIKO-authorised service centre. Altered or falsified warranty certificates, as well as photocopies of warranty certificates, will not be accepted.
• This warranty does not affect the watch owner’s statutory rights. Since 19 February 2005, new legislation has strengthened consumer protection as a result of the transposition of a European Directive. Its purpose is to harmonise warranty rights across Europe and it applies to sales concluded after that date. Further information is available at www.legifrance.gouv.fr (Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code and Articles L211-1 to L211-18 of the French Consumer Code).
Your rights under the legal guarantee
The Seiko commercial warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer. Please see below the Harmonised Notice relating to the legal guarantee of conformity.
