Description of the watch

Inspired by the deep blue colour of a mysterious Japanese lagoon, this timepiece is only available from our Seiko boutiques. This Save The Ocean watch is a modern reinterpretation of the 1970 diver's watch collection. It has been christened "Captain Willard" by fans, in reference to the Martin Sheen character who wore it in the film "Apocalypse Now". The original 1970 Diver's watch was worn by Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura, the first man in the world to climb the highest peaks on five continents, wearing a Seiko watch. This version is equipped with the 6R35 calibre and a long 70-hour power reserve. The crown, positioned at 4 o'clock for greater comfort and convenience, is protected by the wide, streamlined design of the surrounding case, creating its distinctive look.
