With this limited edition, Seiko places even greater emphasis on the beauty and cultural significance of Japanese silk artistry. The inspiration comes from Tomioka, a region renowned for generations for its high-quality silk production. The model was created in collaboration with the Tomioka Silk Promotion Organisation, which is dedicated to preserving this traditional craft. The design draws on the characteristic qualities of Japanese silk. The starting point is the high-quality raw silk, Gunma Hoso, from the region. A flowing wave pattern on the dial captures its vibrant play of light, whilst a pearlescent finish adds depth and a soft, shimmering lustre.
